Music along the Way

Press release - 28 February 2007

Scottish musician Billy McIsaac is walking the West Highland Way in order to raise funds for Lochaber Hydrotherapy. Billy and his team will leave Milngavie on Saturday 24 March and arrive in Fort William 30 March. The walk coincides with the launch of his latest charity CD 'The West Highland Way Connection' that features music from each end of the way.

Lochaber Hydrotherapy is building a hydrotherapy pool in Fort William. Billy has good reason to be involved as he explains, "The charity is close to my heart. One of the three thousand people who will benefit from the pool is a close friend of mine. He was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis 17 years ago. Despite all the pain he's in, he shows great courage and humour and this is a real incentive for me to raise funds."

Midge Ure who performed in the band Slik with Billy in the 1970s has given his support by donating a track for the CD. The launch will take place on Saturday 31 March in Fort William.
Billy is also keen to raise awareness of the West Highland Way. He's passionate about Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park and wants to encourage more people to get out and about to see some of Scotland's finest scenery.

The 'West Highland Way Connection' is available at all good record shops and from www.musicscotland.com/whwc
